Three decades working with FPSO’s

Glamox has supplied lighting solutions to more than 60 FPSOs world-wide.

Floating production and storage vessels (FPSOs) have become a common way to execute offshore oil and gas production. In regions with exploration and production at a great distance from shore and in deep waters, FPSOs have proven to be a cost-effective and flexible alternative.

LED lighting systems ensure a long lifetime, and minimal need for maintenance, valuable features for the FPSOs that are designed with the capability to operate continuously for more than 20 years.

Petrojarl 1 built in Japan by Nippon Kakan in 1986 and operated by Teekay was the first FPSO project for Glamox. After being deployed in the North Sea over the course of 29 years, Petrojarl 1 is currently deployed in Brazil, operating for Queiroz Galvão. Over the years Glamox has gained a lot of experience with lighting for FPSO’s with a track record of more than 60 projects.
Currently, there are approximately 180 FPSOs in operation, many of them deployed in Brazil, operated by Petrobras together with Modec, SBM, BW Offshore and others. From our offices in North America, Brazil, Singapore and Europe we offer technical support for FPSOs in operation.
