The UK Naval market is a key area for growth within the segment – both in the UK and globally.

 

Key Responsibilities

Which tasks are key to the role, what will take up a high proportion of your resources:

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the UK Navy market – with a focus on Naval Vessels, the Auxiliary Fleet and HMCG markets
  • Identify key stakeholders in Navy Projects within the UK
  • Coordinate activities with the Glamox Navy & Coastguard team in order to offer competitive lighting solutions that meet the segment and customer requirements
  • Work closely with specifiers, installers, the Royal Navy and other relevant decision makers to influence the product selection on projects with the goal of Glamox being specified both on domestic and export Navy projects
  • Deep understanding of the industry trends, product requirements and regulations relevant to the Royal Navy, class societies, ship designers and specifiers with the Navy sector & Coastgaurd sector
  • Overview of budget, forecast, and report on overall Navy segment activity
  • Build and maintain relationship with relevant stakeholders
  • Regularly meet with Navy (MoD), developers, Engineering companies, System integrators/OEM’s, contractors and yards executing Navy projects, Auxiliary Fleet and Coastguard
  • Identify stakeholders needs and challenges related to light solutions and products. Share information with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver an action plan by proactively identifying and targeting relevant growth opportunities
  • Sharing all information on each project – meetings, market information, RFQ’s, quotations, light design on Glamox CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Where required liaise with other Business Units for support on projects which span different geographical areas
  • Work with Sales Teams for ‘in country support’ – regular meetings with relevant GNE/GMOW Sales Teams where projects span different geographical areas
  • Specify Glamox into projects at design stage using agreed Glamox selling points – ensure same sales strategy is communicated to all relevant business units involved in each project
  • Attend/Exhibit at key Navy exhibitions and conferences 
  • Actively seek knowledge and remain updated on product trends, market development, competitive landscape in the defined area of responsibility
  • Run compliance checks, review terms and conditions, and other compliance related activities
  • Follow Glamoxs guidelines and measures in health, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), safety and the environment
  • Ensure industry registrations are complete and up to date

 

Essential Requirements

1.Skills

  • Specification of products to end users and OEMs in the Navy market – with a focus on Naval Vessels, Auxiliary Fleet and HMCG

2.Experience

  • A background of specification in Navy projects. Coming from a manufacturer/OEM serving the Navy market – or Ex serving Navy personnel with an electrical background and an understanding of key stakeholders and the Navy market in general.

3.Qualification(s)

  • Bachelor in Engineering/Electrical Or similar field. Candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry meeting the responsibilities and requirements of the role will also be considered.
