A Kinetic Switch has no batteries or any kind of wired connection, as the switch uses self-produced energy that is generated during operation. The communication is based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology. It can be mounted directly on a smooth surface or in a standard European wall box. The switch includes a frame and graphical icons on the push buttons.
