Food processing

In the food processing industry, cleanliness and hygiene are imperative to ensure product quality. The frequent use of sharp utensils and processing machines requires safe operational lighting. Although automated food processing requires less frequent supervision, the correct vertical illuminance is required in order to comfortably view computer screens and control panels. Illuminance requirements also vary according to the task at hand – inspecting finished goods, cutting and sorting call for higher illuminance levels than for example washing, boiling and filling operations.

Food manufacturers require good colour rendering in their factories – not only during the colour-critical end product inspection, but also to evaluate the freshness of the goods throughout processing. Pendant work station lighting with high-Ra light sources is an appropriate solution.
