Hatstore was founded in 2011 and is one of the world's premier online shops for caps, beanies and hats, with over 20,000 models available. While Hatstore opened its first physical store in 2024, the company is first and foremost an online player that ships worldwide.
After growing rapidly in the market, the company recently relocated to a brand-new headquarters building, dubbed “Hathouse”, a premier 11,000-square-metre facility that features production, warehouse, and office space.
“When we started sketching out what Hathouse would look like, our goal was to gather all our activities in one place, in a smart way. We wanted a working environment where employees could thrive and the business could grow,” says Niklas Nordheim, CEO at Hatstore. “We feel that we succeeded in creating a space in which light and sound create a harmonious atmosphere,” says Nordheim.
In total, Glamox provided 997 connected LED luminaires for Hathouse. These smart luminaires are connected and controlled by Glamox Ethernet2DALI or by Glamox Wireless Radio systems. The lighting also utilises built-in sensors for daylight harvesting and presence detection, ensuring the right level of light is provided at the right time. This helps to reduce electricity consumption even further.
The lighting also includes tuneable white lights, which allow for local control of colour temperature output. This feature is used to create different ambiences, and in this case, to photograph the products.
“This is a premier office facility that uses top-class lighting to bring Hatstore’s vision to life, creating a workspace where people can thrive. Using our smart luminaires and light management systems significantly reduces electricity consumption by providing light only when and where it is needed, which also extends the lifespan of the lights and results in lower maintenance costs,” says Andreas Berglund, Managing Director of Glamox in Sweden.
Hathouse is located eight kilometres from Hatstore’s previous headquarters in Kalmar. In addition to the large warehouse, production, and office spaces, Hathouse features
2,000 square metres of common areas, including an in-house swimming pool, a padel court, and a gym. The building also sports a rooftop running track. Glamox’s contract is with EMJ Elteknik, which undertook the installation of the fixtures.
