Smart luminaires

Luminaires with an integrated sensor and/or a wireless node that can communicate in a wireless network

We offer a wide range of smart luminaires with built-in sensors that allow different communication and control. To help you select the right smart luminaire for your project, we have created a guide to explain the sensor names and type of communication.

On our luminaires that have integrated wireless communication, we use the following abbreviations:

WZ = Wireless Zigbee

WCa = Wireless Casambi-ready

WR-G4 = Wireless Radio Generation 4 (with Bluetooth included)

WR-D = Wireless Radio on standard DALI

All our luminaires with integrated sensors are described with three letters + “-SEN“ in the product description. Below is a description that explains what each letter stands for.

The first letter indicates the level of the system:

S = Single-group, which allows you to control a single group of luminaires.

M = Multiple-group, which allows you to control multiple groups of luminaires.

C = Central monitoring, which allows you to monitor and control complete lighting installations.

The second letter indicates the type of sensor:

P = PIR (often combined with a light sensor)

M = Microwave

T = Photocell (Twilight)

H = High-bay PIR

The last letter indicates which type of communication the sensor uses:

A = Standalone

C = Casambi-ready

D = DALI

M = Master,

R = Relay-based

W = Wireless

Sometimes we specify a fourth letter to provide a more precise description.

Below you'll find more information about our most common sensor types.

Single-group

This level allows you to control a single group of luminaires.

SPR-SEN

(Single-group, PIR, Relay based)

The Glamox SPR Sensor is a PIR sensor with a relay-based ON/OFF switch for a single group of luminaires. Maximum load = 4 luminaires. Up to 2 masters in one system.

SMR-SEN

(Single-group, Microwave motion sensor, Relay-based)

The Glamox SMR Sensor is a microwave motion sensor with a relay-based on/off switch for a single group of luminaires. Maximum load = 6 luminaires, maximum 2 masters in one system.

SMA-SEN/SMAB-SEN

(Single-group, Microwave twilight and motion sensor, standalone, B=Basic, with no adjustment of parameters)

A single-group sensor. A microwave twilight and motion sensor with possible on/off functions. Suitable for standalone luminaires.

SMM-SEN/SMMB-SEN

(Single-group, Microwave motion sensor, Master, B=Basic, with no adjustment of parameters)

A single-group microwave motion sensor with a corridor master functionality that can control up to 11 luminaires, where up to 5 can be masters.

STA-SEN

(Single-group, Twilight sensor, Standalone)

A single-group sensor. Twilight detection with on/off functionality. Suitable for standalone luminaires.

Multiple-group

This level allows you to control multiple groups of luminaires.

MPW-SEN

(Multiple-group, PIR sensor, Wireless)

Glamox MPW sensor is a combined PIR and daylight sensor for our Wireless ZigBee system. This sensor connects the luminaire to our wireless ZigBee solution. Designed for multiple groups to be integrated in a network just by using your phone as an BLE integration tool. For larger integrations a gateway can be added.

Central monitoring

This level allows you to monitor and control complete lighting installations.

CPW-SEN

(Central monitoring, PIR sensor, Wireless)

The Glamox CPW sensor is a PIR sensor for our wireless central monitoring system. The sensor communicates with other units within a Glamox wireless system.

CHW-SEN

(Central monitoring, High-bay PIR, Wireless)

The Glamox CHW sensor is a medium-bay sensor (10 m) for our wireless central monitoring system. The sensor connects the luminaire to our advanced Wireless Radio system where large installations can be monitored.

CPW2-SEN NEW

(Central monitoring, PIR sensor, Wireless, 2nd generation sensor)

The Glamox CPW2 sensor is a PIR and light sensor used in our Wireless Radio system. The sensor communicates wirelessly with other devices in our Glamox Wireless Radio system and includes Bluetooth communication that can communicate directly with our Kinetic Switches.

CPD2-SEN NEW

(Central monitoring, PIR sensor, DALI-2)

The Glamox CPD2 sensor is a PIR and light sensor used in our Ethernet2DALI system. The sensor uses instances (events) based on the DALI-2 protocol and is connected to a DALI network with an application controller (Vertex) and a power supply (built into Vertex).
