Due to the recent decision regarding the further consolidation of the Glamox Group's production capacity, the production of task lighting luminaires – including desk and floor lamps for use in offices, schools, and healthcare facilities – will gradually be transferred from the Glamox facility in Kirkenær, Norway, to the plant in Wilkasy, Poland, from autumn this year until May 2025.
"We are moving task lighting production to Wilkasy because we have available production capacity here. In addition, the Wilkasy plant is capable of producing several types of products at any given time; it is also possible to shift resources between different production lines depending on market demand. This makes manufacturing products here particularly attractive," said Astrid Simonsen Joos, CEO of the Glamox Group.
Currently, Glamox employs around 700 people in Poland. In addition to the manufacturing facilities in Dobczyce and Wilkasy, we have nine sales offices across the country and a European distribution and logistics center in Poznań. The headquarters is located in Kraków.
The lighting products and systems we manufacture in Poland are intended for professional and commercial buildings such as offices, industrial facilities, warehouses, schools, universities, retail stores, and hospitals.
Since August 2023, all new products have been launched under the Glamox brand. The ES-SYSTEM product brand has been retained for products previously introduced to the market.
"Poland has long been a key European hub for the production, distribution, and sales of Glamox-branded lighting products. With this latest production expansion, Poland plays an even more important role for the Glamox Group," adds Simonsen Joos.
